Another experimental watercolor rendition by the artist, this artwork captures the Ministry of Finance building located along Tamarindelaan, so named because of the tamarind trees lining its sidewalk.
This magnificent building (completed in 1841) is a monumental brick structure with classical portico and clock tower, rendered in this artwork, seen after a rainshower had passed. The accumulated water reflects beautifully the clock tower, completing an image shaped like an hourglass that stands recording the passing of time.
