Born in Paramaribo in 1958, Ray attended the Surinaamse Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten during the 80’s. He has participated in numerous exhibits since 1987 and had been sharing his knowledge and talents as an art teacher since 2012. For this edition of the Nationale Kunstbeurs, Ray has created five expressionist mixed media art pieces. All of which are created in acrylic paint, pangi fabric, paper and different types of pasta on canvas. The themes are as diverse as the materials and range from well-known city views to characters. All pieces are signed in 2022 by the artist and not based on or an interpretation of other arts.
