Born in Mexico in 1975, Maria attended the Diego Rivera School of Art in Zamora, Mexico, and is currently working on creating original artwork with Arte Sandoval Maciel Gallery, which she co-founded with her husband R. Sandoval. In addition, Maria Maciel established a children’s artwork shop since 2011, where she teaches art history, painting and drawing techniques to kids 5 to 13 years of age every Saturday morning. From 1998 she has had the opportunity to exhibit her work at numerous exhibitions and was invited to participate with the art group Artemisa, headed by her art teacher Nancy Almazan. She has continued to participate in solo and collective art exhibitions notably at the Casa de la Cultura in Morelia Michoacán, Omo Gallery in Fabrica la Aurora, San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, Centro Cultural Antiguo Jesuita in Pátzcuaro Michoacán and more. She makes various creations of her style of art, which is mixed media through oil and acrylic. Three examples of her art are named, “Aire Maligno”, “Golden Echo”, and “La Magdalena”. None of which are based on or an interpretation of other arts.
