Suriname
Born in Suriname in 1960, Floris studied Mechanical Maintenance Engineering. He is currently retired from the Suralco Paranam Powerhouse and participates in online international art competitions. He has a self-designed mixed medium of realistic/figurative painting, with visible and tangible lively forms. This made him the winner of 10 awards from June 2020 to present from international online art completions. The 3D mixed medium technique is made up of acrylic paint, papier-mâché, cork (recycled paper) on canvas glued to hardboard with a wooden panel frame. He makes his art come to live with this application of visible/tangible tactile design with the parts protruding through the many beautiful art-like details. Since 2014 he has had the opportunity to exhibit his work at Carifesta, Nationale Kunstbeurs & SIAF. Three examples of his art are named, “Amazon Hawkhead Parrots”, “Ni No e Broko” and “The Solitary Jaguar”. None of which are based on or an interpretation of other arts.
