A warm welcome to all art lovers.
A warm welcome to all art lovers.
It is so good that after the difficult last years due to COVID, we can welcome you, not only on our website, but also in person.
We have, besides our website (SIAF.sr), three different physical events that together make up this edition of the National Art Fair / Suriname International Art Fair (SIAF.sr).
We start with the opening on Thursday October 27th in “de Hal” in Paramaribo until Sunday October 30th. The official opening will be a special event and will be done by the minister of Education, Science and Culture Mrs. Marie Levens.
In December and January we will have two special events in “het Surinaamsch Rumhuis” where we naturally will enjoy art with a cocktail based on Borgoe. At these events we will present specials, art made on invitation on a special subject. Of course we expect this to be different in a special way.
End of January we will have a closing event of three days in G-Art Blok where we will show all artists of this 55th edition of the National Art Fair.
We will have around 55 participating artists who will showcase their paintings, sculptures, ceramic, digital art and photography.
Artists from Suriname of course, but also from Cayenne, Argentina, Curaçao, Mexico, the USA and the Netherlands.
We are very proud of our Surinamese Artists but are evenly happy with and proud of the participation of artists from so many other countries. Also, we are convinced that all artists will positively influence each other, which will lead to a fusion of styles making it even more interesting and beautiful.
All art will be for sale and will support of course the artists and also our foundation. Most of all, you will enjoy it for the rest of your life!
Without the financial support of our sponsors, and we are very grateful to them, this would not be possible! We have presented them, of course, on our website.
A special word of appreciation is in order for Monique Nouh Chaia of Readytex Art Gallery who has given us the opportunity to have our opening in “de Hal”, for Steven Ma Ajong of SAB who has made “het Surinaamsch Rumhuis” available for our special events in December and January, and for George Struikelblok for giving us the possibility for our closing event in G-Art Blok. They have made their locations available for us for free!
Three wonderful people who support visual art and the artists, and the National Art Fair in so many ways.
It is important to us but even more so for the artists and our visitors.
Now, please take your time and look at all the beautiful art an enjoy!
